Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb: 2026-08-11
Note: Characterized by an increase in solar wind speed from 375 km/s at 2026-08-18T12:40Z to 550 km/s at 17:02Z. A subsequent increase in temperature is observed from ~120,000 K at 2026-08-18T12:40Z to ~530,000 K at 2026-08-18T17:11Z. Around the time solar wind speed and temperature increase, density decreases from ~12 p/cc to ~7 p/cc. The source is likely the coronal hole spanning S15 to S50 which reached the central meridian on 2026-08-15.
